Version: 2026-07-06 (v1)
Effective date: July 6, 2026
Roads (“Roads,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates a marketplace that connects drivers who need overnight vehicle parking with hosts who offer parking spaces (“Services”). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, share, and protect personal information when you visit our websites, use our mobile applications, or otherwise interact with us.
This Policy applies to all users of the Services, including buyers (renters), sellers (hosts), and visitors. It works together with our Terms of Service and any role-specific agreements you accept in the product (such as membership or partnership terms).
1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT
1.1 Information you provide
We collect information you give us directly, including:
- Account and profile details (name, email address, phone number, and similar contact information)
- Identity and eligibility information (government ID images, driver’s license details, vehicle information, and verification outcomes)
- Booking and listing information (dates, locations, messages, house rules acknowledgments, and support requests)
- Payment-related metadata (billing contact information and transaction references). Payment card numbers are processed by Stripe; we do not store full card numbers on our servers.
1.2 Information collected automatically
When you use the Services, we may collect:
- Device and app information (device type, operating system, app version, and general diagnostic logs)
- Usage information (pages or screens viewed, features used, and approximate interaction timestamps)
- Location information when you enable it (for example, to show nearby lots or support navigation to a booked space)
1.3 Information from third parties
We may receive information from:
- Payment processors (such as Stripe) about payment status, fraud signals, and payout eligibility
- Identity verification and safety vendors that help us confirm accounts
- Service providers that host infrastructure, analytics, email delivery, or customer support tools
2. HOW WE USE INFORMATION
We use personal information to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Services
- Create and manage accounts and authenticate users
- Facilitate bookings, messaging, payments, and payouts between buyers and sellers
- Verify identity, prevent fraud, and protect the safety and integrity of the platform
- Communicate with you about bookings, account activity, policy updates, and support requests
- Comply with law, respond to legal process, and enforce our agreements
- Analyze aggregated or de-identified trends to improve the product
3. HOW WE SHARE INFORMATION
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information:
- With other users when needed to complete a transaction (for example, a buyer may receive a host’s name, lot location, and access instructions after a booking is confirmed)
- With service providers who process data on our behalf under contractual obligations (hosting, payments, email, analytics, verification, and support tools)
- With payment partners such as Stripe to process charges, refunds, and seller payouts
- For legal, safety, and enforcement reasons (to comply with law, respond to valid requests, protect rights and safety, or investigate fraud or policy violations)
- In connection with a business transaction (such as a merger or acquisition), subject to appropriate protections
Hosts and buyers should use information received through Roads only for booking coordination and should not share it externally without permission.
4. PAYMENTS
Stripe handles payment card data according to its own privacy policy and security standards. We receive limited payment information from Stripe (such as last four digits, card brand, and transaction status) to operate the Services.
5. DATA RETENTION
We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide the Services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and maintain safety records. Retention periods may vary by data type and legal requirements.
6. SECURITY
We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. YOUR CHOICES AND RIGHTS
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain processing of your personal information, or to object to processing or request portability. You may update some account information in the app. To exercise other rights, contact us at hello@roadsapp.com. We may need to verify your request.
8. CHILDREN
The Services are not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
9. INTERNATIONAL USERS
If you access the Services from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States or other countries where we or our service providers operate, which may have different data protection laws than your country.
10. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version in the Services and update the effective date. Material changes may be communicated through the app, email, or other reasonable means.
